The Ramsey Club was originally founded in 1922, consisting of a bar, a billiard table and a card room.
It wasn’t until 1950 that a change of premises saw a bowling green introduced, and later in 1965, a 9-hole golf course was opened with a match between 2 Pro’s and 2 Amateurs including Ryder Cup players Dai Rees & Peter Allis.
The 18-hole course opened in 1968 with an exhibition match including Gary Player. He scored a course-record 65 which included included 4 birdies, and an eagle on the 10th.
The course is set amongst some of the oldest trees in the area and offers a challenging experience to golfers of all levels.
The mature course, and the superb bowling green offer a welcoming sporting challenge at a unique venue, where everyone is welcome.
Our golf members have the opportunity to play in a comprehensive range of Men’s, Ladies, Mixed and Seniors’ competitions which run throughout the year. Additionally, there are plenty of opportunities to represent the club in a variety of friendly matches against other Cambridgeshire clubs.
